A global gathering of voices

This month marks the third annual Global Population Speak Out (GPSO) – a month-long effort by, activists, academics and citizens worldwide to raise the profile of population issues and the impacts upon the environment and future sustainability.

PSN has joined the campaign, which is calling for increased accessed to voluntary family planning services, along with educational, economic and political empowerment of women worldwide. To make a sustainable future a reality, more people must speak for change.

PSN joins the campaign

PSN’s Karen Newman is one of fifty leading actors on population and sustainability issues worldwide who have publically endorsed the campaign. Other PSN staff and supporters have signed the campaign’s pledge and plan to speak out over the coming month.

One of the actions that PSN board member John Guillebaud has planned is to speak about Population, Health and Environment approaches at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, to medical professionals going on to work overseas.

The GPSO is organised by the Population Institute, with help from the campaign endorsers and signers of the GPSO letter.
